Classroom Learning Indicator 3: Motivational Increase

Classroom Learning Indicator 3:
Motivational Increase

In general, when the student felt that they have learned a lot form the class, they would be more motivated to learn. This motivation can be shown in their expressed desire to come back to the class, to learn more about certain theorist, concept, or about teaching and learning in general.

Motivation to come back to the class

I continue to look forward to each class to learn what I can do to better help the students in their learning environment.—Stephanie Huerta, Feb 7, 2008, EDCI 4322-01

I really look forward going to your class, each time we have class, there is always something new to learn. That to me is great because we are constantly learning new thing everyday. —Sandy, Feb 7, 2008, EDCI 4322-01

Motivation to discuss more

I liked the panel discussion a lot even thou I felt like one of the only ones asking questions. I liked the responses that I received from the entire panel. I also feel that Pedro even thou just a paraprofessional gave really great responses. I only wish we would have had more time for questions I had a lot more to ask.—Ry*, Jan 28, 2008, EDCI 4322-60

Motivation to learn more about certain concepts/theorists

…I look forward to learning more about Piaget and Erikson and much more in this class.-- May, Feb 5, 2008, EDCI 4322-60

This week was very interesting. I had heard of these men but never knew the stages. All of them had different stages where kids learn. I think the one I can reflect on the most is Piaget. The way he put the different stages reminded me of myself when I was growing. I was very interested in him and I will take the time to read more on his work.—Ice, Feb 5, 2008, EDCI 4322-60

Motivation to learn more in general

After going over a slide show about the different psychological developments that exist, I came out to the conclusion that there’s so much to learn.-- Hellen, Jan 31, 2008, EDCI 4322-01

All these experiences have helped me realize what I want out of life. I have my goals and try my best to prioritize my life in order to help me reach those goals...Ultimately the goals that I plan on accomplishing in my young adult life are to graduate with my master’s degree in Latin American Studies and to become the best wife and mother I could possibly be.-- Juanita C. Torres, Feb 5, 2008, EDCI 4322-60

Motivation for future teaching

Everyday time I get out of this class, I go home a little more knowledgeable. =) and can’t wait to use all of this knowledge with my future students. –Hellen, Feb 7, 2008, EDCI 4322-01

Taking into consideration the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive characteristics of the students depending on their age level is very significant information to be applied in a successful classroom environment. Overall, the class had very interesting and motivating knowledge, that makes me be more passionate and dedicated to my future professional career.—Jacky, Feb 7, 2008, EDCI 4322-01
