Motivation Solution 1: The Individual


Ally, a student from All EDCI 4322-60 class, pointed out that “something must be done to address this serious problem in our school systems.” The question is: How? How can we address this problem? What can we do to motivate students to learn? Again, our students provided their suggestions from different perspectives such as individuals, teachers, parents, as well as educational policy.

The individual: value education

Students should realize that the World cares, because soon after they do graduate, the World' will benefit from their greater contribution to society.—Maricela Gonzalez, Jan 25, 2008, EDCI 4322-01

The individual: increase self-confidence

At the same time, it is not a factor that depends on others. The students have to believe in themselves and be motivated even when no one is rooting for them. – Forest, Feb 2, 2008, EDCI 4322-60

Parents: show interest/care
