The first class was a lot more enjoyable than I thought it was going to be. I can actually say that I had a lot of fun. As I read the syllabus before I got to class, I was like, “oh my gosh, this instructor is going to be all about trying to get through all the material as fast as she can.”
But when I finally met the instructor, my mind totally changed about her. She is funny, super nice, and a lot of fun. She has the type of personality that you just have to love. The thing I learned in her class today was surprisingly everybody’s name. I have never walked out of a classroom the first day knowing everybody’s name until today. The way I learned everybody’s name was playing a game the instructor called The Name Game. We moved all our desks in a big circle and we had to come up with a word or phrase that would help everybody else remember our name. It was so funny with some of the things people came up with, although it really helped to remember everybody’s name. This is the best icebreaker I’ve ever seen a teacher use, and I myself will definitely use this game in my classroom in the future.
