When I got to class I felt a bit overwhelmed after reviewing the syllabus. I thought the class was going to be very difficult. I started to feel a bit of a panic. We started working on different activities and interacting with the classmates, which made me feel more at ease.
First, we started to fill out the learning survey, I started to feel a little less stressed. When we introduced ourselves to the some of our classmates, I felt a little shy because I’m not used to approaching new people and just having a conversation with them. When we switched to another person, I felt a little less shy and was more willing to get to know more people. It was really fun being able to introduce our soul mate.
After taking a break and we went over the rule to the Name Game, I thought it was going to be a challenge remembering everyone’s name and strategy. I really enjoyed the Name Game. I felt that it was a great way to break the ice. I thought it was very interesting how some people came up crazy ways to remember their names like: Margarita Happy Hour or Dengting like Dentine Ice gum. I would definitely use the Name Game to break the ice. After we were done with the Name Game, we started a class discussion where we all gave our opinion about the activities we worked on and how it could help us.
I think that after today it will be a lot easier to speak in front of the class, because I feel more comfortable knowing the names of those in my class. I feel like this session, like May session, is going to be a great one.
