After leaving my first class I felt overwhelmed I wasn’t sure if I should stick with the class or drop it. I went back to my dorm room and re-read the syllabus and really found that everything was interesting and I felt excited about it and knew I wanted to keep the course. I knew it was going to be difficult but the teacher seemed very understanding and I knew she would go over everything step by step.
I learned from that first day that being outgoing and not shy is the first step to everything. The name game was a fun and easy way of mesmerizing everyone’s name and it got everyone to communicate with each other. I felt very comfortable to come back the second class.
I would really like to explore on special education because that it what I want to pursue. I want to know how much harder it is to teach and be around these kids. I really found myself wanting to do this when my sister died of cancer I felt like I couldn’t help her in anything and I want to help people and make them feel comfortable and as normal as anyone else.
