After having experienced my first class of EDI 15 I feel a sense of relief. The first day of any class always holds a certain amount of stress provoking thoughts. Concerns about the teacher, the other students and the type of class all go through my mind. This class in particular I was feeling the stress because it is my first education course.
As the class began and the first thing on the list of things to do was the name game I felt a rush of thoughts going through my head none of which were positive. To much of my surprise as the game was underway I started to get into it, trying my hardest to remember everyone’s name and the word association. When the game was over I felt not only a sense of relief but also comfort. This form of icebreaker truly did just that, it made me feel comfortable to talk in front of the class but I also learned a valuable skill.
The game was solely based on repetition and word association. I felt that the more people that went ahead of me just gave me one more opportunity to go over everyone’s faces and names. This technique of repetition was proven true in this game and one that I will use in the future with other aspects of my education.
