I felt that the class was very motivating. I enjoyed the Teaching Panel and thought it was a great idea. I took everything that was said into consideration of my own teaching methods. The questions that the students asked were helpful to everyone. However, I do wish that some more thought provoking questions had been asked.

I did learn that no matter what subject a person is teaching, all teachers have the same concerns and problems. All teachers want to know how to control a class, have authority and earn respect from their students. I don't think any teacher really has the ability to walk into a classroom and immediately have all of the students’ undivided attention. The attention and interest will come after respect has been earned. I think a teacher has to try and relate themselves to their students so that they feel comfortable. A classroom should be a comfortable environment and the teacher should seem like a friend.

I also learned that testing is a very two-sided topic which will probably be disputed for a long time. I have spoken about this topic in another one of my classes. Many students are very intelligent, but when it comes to taking a written exam, they fail. That is not fair to the child because it will affect his or her future. I am really anxious to see who comes up with the solution to that problem. Overall, I thought the class was fun and that we covered important ideas.
