On Tuesday I was looking forward to another quality day in EDI 15A. This class is very interesting and has raised my confidence level as a student. I have enjoyed learning all the different theories that have to do with education. There are some things that I agree with, but Dr. Boyanton also allows us to disagree with information as well. This makes me feel more comfortable to express my feelings and opinions during class. Throughout this semester I feel that my confidence level has risen since I have started this course.

I used to be somewhat nervous to speak and express my opinions in front of my peers. I used to think that a group of people would not find my opinions relevant and important. Now I am completely not afraid to explain my opinions in front of a class of twenty of my fellow peers. This is because I have realized that they just want me to succeed and are interested to hear what I have to say. This will aid me in becoming a future teacher because I will have to be completely confident, when I instruct my future students.
`
During this class the activity we engaged in was the Learning Styles survey. This activity went over a specific theory and how it applied to me. After hearing each of the characteristics and styles I checked off the ones which had to do with me. I realized that my styles are reflectivity, field-independence, tactile, verbal, legislative, hierarchic, local, internal, external, and liberal. I feel that these characteristic help make me who I am as an individual in this society. These styles help facilitate my learning because if I tried other styles it would be much more arduous for me to study and completely grasp knowledge.

I feel that the best teachers are the ones that adjust their styles for each specific student. That is why a teacher should try to incorporate each style into their lesson plans. Each learning style should be done in moderation and the one which works the best should be used the most. After I filled out my sheet I proceeded to survey three of my fellow classmates. I had a lot in common with two of them.

After we went back to our seats I found out that I had eight styles in common with two other classmates. It was interesting to know that other individuals share common styles and characteristics with me. The three of us then worked together to answer the questions. This was a very enjoyable and beneficial activity. It helped me learn more about myself as a learner. I am now completely sure what styles I should use when I want to advance my intelligence level.

This class has become very helpful for me as an individual and a person. I feel that I will continue to grow as a student and future teacher as the semester continues.
