I believe that we should be very supportive towards high school student’s dreams and inspirations because they may be able to fulfill these dreams at some point in their life with the proper encouragement. They may have aspirations that no one else has ever thought of and may be able to become whatever they desire to be.

However, there are some limitations to these aspirations. They should not be encouraged to pursue a path that may be detrimental to themselves or others. The limit should be that they not copy someone or something because it seems “cool” to them; they should follow their own dreams and try to find their own path in life.

The individual should be realistic but not completely disregard their dreams. They should know their own limits such as, if they do not like art they cannot assume that they will magically become an amazing artist just because they believe that they can. They must understand that being able to fulfill a dream takes determination and hard work. If the person has an idea that they would like to pursue, they should be encouraged as much as possible, they should never be denied because of an adults disbelief in the individuals abilities or disadvantages.
