As teachers we need to be very supportive of our students either if they are in elementary school, middle school, or high school. Pushing students to be the best in every area is what we are supposed to do. Make sure they understand ideas, history, math, and English. Through these subjects we can push students to make their own dreams. We should push high school students more than any other. They are trying to figure out what they want to do like go to college, or to go a vocational school to learn a certain craft that they can use for a job.

The reason I picked to be a social studies teacher is because through the first two years my high school I had the best social studies teacher. She made learning fun. She inspired me to become a teacher, and made me realize my love for history. When I was younger I had other dreams like becoming a smoke jumper, or working in zoos but after growing up a little and looking at what I really wanted to do it was because my history teacher really pushed me to figure out what I wanted to do.

No matter what students think we should not put them down for their ideas. We should support them but also show them maybe some negative things to show them the whole picture. There is no real “limit” to put on motivating students. If you want them to succeed outside the classroom teachers should really focus on pushing students to be the best they can be.
