I enjoyed the education 15A activity that we did on Thursday when we would analyze what is normal and abnormal about a specific age and gender of students. My group had the high school girls and we said that normal was that they were catty, cliquey, want more of a serious relationship, etc. We also said it was abnormal for them to be promiscuous, not have many friends, and not go to parties. Our advice to teachers was to be friendly with their students and get to know them one on one a little better.

It helps when a teacher knows more about you and you can go to them anytime you have a problem and you need help. I think there is also a certain level of respect that the student/ teacher relationship should reach. Being too close to your students may cause the student to lose respect for the teacher and view them as friends. Being able to talk to a teacher may be better then talking to your friends because you know the teacher wont spread any rumors about you and keep it confidential. I’m also positive that every student knows at least one teacher that they can trust and are friendly with.
