Today’s class got a little wild. We had a heated debate all class about whether or not money can buy happiness. It seemed that majority of the class joined the side of the class that felt money can buy happiness. Although the other side did have some good arguments, we did win the argument that to an extent that money does buy happiness. At one point we were so convincing that one of the people we were debating happened to join our side and agree with us on some aspects.
The point that we were trying to get across was that if you live comfortably without everyday worries of money issues, dealing with bills, foreclosure, and just struggling to get by, than you will have a happier life. You will experience more opportunities in life, and get to enjoy life more, without the pressures of making payments and constantly being stressed out.
This is not to say that every single person with money is happy and everyone without money is unhappy. This is just simply saying that those who did not have money issues in life can lead a happier, less stressful, more enjoyable lifestyle. Those who can barely make payments tend to be more stressed out and unhappy with their lives. We are going through an economic crisis right now, and recently many people have lost their life savings. People were seen jumping out of buildings and committing suicide (similar to what happened in the Great Depression) because they lost so much money. Money is not everything in life, but it definitely helps to lead a happier lifestyle if you have enough to live comfortably.
