Although money may make life easier it doesn’t necessarily make you happy. Having money definitely has its benefits such as making it possible to have a nice house in a good neighborhood, having a car that is new and reliable, and not having to worry about how you are going to pay your bills. All in all money makes life easier and less stressful, but it doesn’t necessarily make you happy.

I do not believe true happiness can be bought. I find right now one thing that makes me happy is the idea of reaching my goal of graduating from college and then teaching. I think if I could help a student get over a rough time I would feel that I am a successful teacher. This accomplishment would be fulfilling and self-rewarding. This would make me happy. Knowing that my family is healthy with no major problems would make me happy. I think the most important thing to make anyone happy is to have someone to share your life with, to tell all your dreams to, and to know that someone loves you above all others in the world.

I would be lying if I said money is not important. I like money, and I hope someday I will have a lot of money, but that alone doesn’t make a person happy. I like the idea of what money can do rather than what money can buy. It can make you self-sufficient and independent. Happiness comes from within, you can choose to be happy or you can choose to be miserable, that is why you can see people without a lot of money who are very happy and enjoy simple things with their family, and you can see wealthy people who are lonely and miserable.

Money is not an end to itself; it depends on how you use the money. It can open doors for you and give you options you wouldn’t otherwise have. But happiness is something that comes from within, its how you choose to live your life that counts.
