I really enjoyed today’s class because I think that it was great that we could share different things from our heritage. America is based on immigrants and to embrace our heritage and where we came from is a great thing. Reading those case studies I thought was interesting because seeing other people’s stories about being discriminated against was really sad. It’s upsetting to see how people are still discriminated against in this country.

As future teachers I believe that we need to do two things. We need to teach our students the lessons that discrimination does. How it affects people and what it makes people feel like and try to use a lesson like the movie we watched in a previous class. Also I think it would be great to take time maybe for just one class and have students bring something in from the heritage to share with the rest of the class. If you teach students to be accepting of everything then discrimination and racism will start to fade away I believe. Our future as a world lies with the lessons to future generations. What we teach in the classroom will hopefully be remembered by the students and taught to their children and so on and so on.
