My entire life, I was always fascinated and enjoyed learning new things. Not only did I love to learn, I loved passing on what I knew to others as well. This is the main reason why I have chosen teaching as a profession; to pass on the knowledge I have acquired and be able to help others learn what I believe to be important.

What motivates me to learn is the idea that in the future I will be using the knowledge I am acquiring to help others during their years in high school. It is important for me to be knowledgeable in my content area so that I can help students become masters in my subject of interest.

Also, in all the education classes I am currently taking, I am learning a great deal of information not only on teaching but the students themselves. Not only is it important to be masters in your content, it is important to learn different ways in which students can retain the information being presented to them. Also, because these can be the most interesting years of an individual’s life, it is important to learn the ways in which students identify themselves and how different aspects of their lives affect who they grow up to be.

I also enjoy learning on a personal level. I believe to be an all around good person, one must be knowledgeable. Not only do I enjoy learning trivial facts and information, I believe it is important to learn many different aspects of life. Like it has been said, “knowledge is power” and learning is the only way to obtain that knowledge.
