The movie of A Class Divided was a very interesting experiment and I think that everyone should watch this video at least once in their lifetime. Somehow in our world, the color of our skin and race has become an issue and I would like to know how it all started. It is upsetting that the way you are treated, opportunities, and what is expected of you varies because of your race. It was interesting on how these white third grade students were so easily divided and discriminated based on their eye color in such a short while.

What was even more interesting was the way this discrimination affected their academic performance. The day the brown eyed children were discriminated upon they performed 3 minutes slower than the day they were the dominate race. I honestly had no clue how this happens and it makes me think this is probably why “minorities” are not prospering as fast which is sad. This whole race discrimination is silly!

Unfortunately, I do not think that it will ever disappear, however, I do believe that people will learn to live in peace and learn to accept each other in ways. I think that teachers should teach students to respect other cultures and their differences because honestly, we can’t always expect their parents to do it. Teaching it in school is I believe the most effective way to gradually make it better. I also think that we should all keep our individual cultures and be proud of them, our different cultures are what made up America, we should keep them alive and respect them. There is no reason that one should be embarrassed.
