The first day of class felt like a mini emotional roller coaster for me. At first I was a little nervous because starting a new class you never know what to expect. You don’t know what the teacher will be like or if you’ll be in a class with anyone you know. However as soon as the class started I immediately felt relieved the first anxiety was over. Then we had to interview someone else to get to know them, for me I thought this was great so at least we could get to know another person in the class. As the class continued we were told we were going to play the name game and of course the anxiety level went up right away because I had no idea what the name game was and I imagined it would involve talking in front of the class which is not my favorite thing to do. After hearing the rules of the game and starting to see a few people play I felt relaxed again.
Just when I thought the anxiety was over we had to give a mini presentation on the game! However I was not as nervous as I expected to be because of the ice breaker I felt much more comfortable talking in front of the class and didn’t mind doing it as much as usual. I left the class feeling positive and excited for the semester. I was a little overwhelmed looking at the syllabus but overall I felt very motivated about the semester overall. .
