A new adventure, a new challenge or any different situation can often brings an amount of curious anxiety, anticipation and uncertainty. The first day of classes has always stirred these feelings within me so it was no surprise to me when these feeling arose coming to class on Thursday night. I've lived many years and I know myself and know my "comfort zone". Professor Boyanton, your first class was a refreshing change and a wonderful start to the semester.

The Name Game was a simple, easy game but it produced great results. I'm sure my reaction when first told that we would play a game was similar to many in the class. Oh no! Not a game! Anxiety!! How will I focus enough to remember all my new classmates names and myself be creative? Help! But by the end of the class, I found myself relaxed, laughing and actually remembering names - and I had fun!

I learned an interesting lesson last night and one that I hope that I will be able to convey to my future students. Go beyond your "comfort zone", reach out beyond yourself no matter how slight or minimal it may be. You'll discover that you really can and you even find yourself enjoying the feeling.
My life has gone through many changes this past year, in a direction I never foresaw. I am focused in my goals and a determined to succeed at CW Post.

The topics of the needs of special learners and behavior management are areas of interest that I look forward to covering in class. I work in a classroom of special needs children and I am always striving to make their day a little easier, comfortable and engaging.
