Today, we learn about Erikson and Piaget’s theory of psychological development. I really enjoy today’s class because it was really easy to understand. Many stories were based on experience and familiar for our life. In my opinion, this way of teaching has a similarity with the methods which we learned at first class. Add some information to remember something you need become easier that keeping information in memory by associating it with something else you already know or something with familiar.
Moreover, those stories exactly show Erikson and Piaget’s theory so it was really easy to understand. I also liked the power-point organization for the both Erikson and Piaget’s theory because that list didn’t have many words. Both lists have only key words which linked our classes today, especially example part.
For each theory, that key words become a prompt so later, when we review that power-point it is easier to remember what we learned. For example, Erickson’s preschool to kindergarten period. Psychological needs are Initiative versus guilty and example key word is “Mud soup.” I still could remember what kind of story professor told me from this prompt and that help my understanding for this section a lot. I really could see a lot of psychological methods for memorizing in this class. This class is very efficient and I really want to imitate this class style for my future class.
