What motivate you to learn in general? What demotivate you to learn? Share some examples here.
What motivates me to learn in general is if the material is interesting or if the teacher presents the material in an engaging way. For example, when I took history four it motivated me learned because I was interested in the material the professor was teaching. Another example when I was motivated to learn was when I took EDI 15A. The material the professor was teaching was not really interesting, but the way she taught it was engaging. We would be watching clips, doing group activities, drawing on poster to share with the class, etc. It was not just lecturing for the whole time.
What demotivates me to learn is when the material has no interest at all to me. When I am learning something I do not really care about I zone out and do not pay attention. For example, I could never pay attention in my biology class because I thought was boring and nothing fascinated me. Another example would be bio lab when we had to dissect fetal pigs. I thought it was disgusting and I did not want to be there. For the three hours I was there I had my head turned away and I learned nothing because I was grossed out by the fetal pig.
