Today's classes are so interesting that I always think time flies so fast which I have never felt before in any other classes. It’s my great pleasure to take this course and study with you, Professor Dengting.

The reason why I find myself so immersed in this class relies on learning abstract things from an interesting and easy way. Just like today’s community respect, it seemed that this just wanted to collect our personal requirements of keeping an organized class and creating a pleasant study atmosphere in an interesting way. For example, all of us felt funny when someone mentioned that, “please do not blow your nose in the class”. However, in my opinion, the purpose of this part is far more than that. The main aim is to let us know how important it is to appreciate and respect each student’s character, because teachers need to know their students well and are able to adapt their teaching styles to a particular classroom and to individual students.

In the second session of the class, some students shared their teaching experience with us. I think I was inspired of three points from this discussion. Firstly, it is very important to build a sincere relationship with students, that is to say teachers should love students from the bottom of their heart. I was really touched when Sky said that when she has to come to LIU for study, all her students cried for her leaving. Secondly, in order to adjust different types of students, teachers ought to not only pay attention on the academic score of students, but also how they think and what they feel during classes. Thirdly, it is not wise enough for a teacher to be overwhelmed excited so as to gain a good impression from students at the beginning of classes, because in that case students are not likely to respect you due to your improper attitude.

Generally that’s what I got from today’s lesson. I am so glad to see my improvement and new insight from this class step by step.
