What is your learning style?

What is your learning style?

As I was driving myself to the doctor after class, I began to reflect on the way Professor Boyanton presented Sternberg’s Theory to us this afternoon. Everything was explained clearly and concisely, which left us time to do a group activity for the remainder of the period. The group activity was engaging and exciting. I learned about the different ways my classmates prefer to study, learn, and interact with other people.

As I continued to reflect on the class, I imagined how a teacher could potentially turn the material we learned today into a very mundane lecture. This class has introduced an entirely different style of teaching to me. I think it’s important as a future teacher to remember Professor Boyanton’s techniques that captivated my attention and helped me learn new information.

When I arrived at the doctor’s office, I checked in, paid my co-pay, and walked into the examination room. The doctor began to ask me several questions. One of the questions she asked me was, “Are you a visual, tactile, or audio learner?” Why she asked me this question, I have no idea. However, I immediately responded, “visual!”
