What killed today’s adolescents’ motivation to learn in your opinion? Who should we blame? In my opinion what has killed today’s adolescents’ motivation is both high-stake testing and technology.  As we discussed in class last week I feel very strongly that technology is the main reason why children today have no motivation to learn.  Which tools such as the internet and search engines like google, and yahoo children have stopped wanting to learn because they can just look something up online without having to learn it.  It’s just a quick search away.  This has also cause young people to stop asking the questions why, what, etc. This is the most important question and the reason why people have discovered so many things throughout history and its why people become motivated and want to learn about things.

With the advances in technology students don’t need to ask these questions anymore and they can be free to do other things.  Another technology that has hindered children’s motivation is the advancement in video games.  Why do hard work or go outside and play when you can sit in front of your computer or tv and relax.  These advancements in technology have lead to children not wanting to do anything and has given them the mindset to say why do more work then I have to and have caused them to become lazy and uncaring.
