I believe that dealing with behavioral issues in the classroom is one of the most difficult challenges that teachers have to face in the classroom. Although many situations vary, I believe that each should be handled differently according to the severity of the situation at hand. Classroom management in my opinion is something that will help when dealing with behavioral issues. I think teachers should set classroom rules from day one. If students don’t abide by these rules than they will have to face the consequences.

I think there are many strategies that could be implemented when behavioral issues arise. As I stated above one strategy that I believe will be effective would be classroom management. Misbehavior in the classroom disrupts the entire classroom and at times could be hurtful. I strongly believe that when a student misbehaves the child should face the consequences of misbehaving. I believe that if it is known to the students that they will have to face consequences for their behavior than this will hopefully deter subsequent problems. This would hopefully register in student’s heads before they are about to misbehave.

Although I am strong believer in this, I also think that many school officials view punishment as the only recourse in dealing with a student's misbehavior. Sometimes they use the most negative consequences available to them in an effort to control an individual and make it clear to others that acting in such a fashion is not tolerated. Sometimes certain situations call for suspending the student from school. This is one of the most extreme forms of consequences. I think that at times this is necessary, this type of punishment could be offset by many negative consequences. After getting suspended from a school a student may become more negative towards school and school personnel, which may lead to future behavioral problems

I recall many times in high school where students were suspended and as a result of this they became less interested in school and there behavior became worse. I think at times they behaved this way to show off and in sense to act tough in front of their classmates. You would think that after getting suspended from school a student would become scared and more conscious of their actions. I think this also varies according to the person. I also believe that if a student gets suspended from school the parents should become more involved and help the child overcome this.
