Why we do test for students? In my opinion, there are two points of view for the test. First view is to determine whether or not the students have mastered the objectives. Another point of view is to help the student by diagnosing academic weaknesses. The comparison of the test point with the friend and studying hard are also good. It is also good to see the deviation value and the order and to confirm my position if students have a plan to go to famous High School or University. If students review the test, they also can find their week point from the test result. I think that is also one of the biggest merits to improve the knowledge.

However, depend on the situation; test might become negative factor for students. Recently, in United States, teachers and administrators have come under increasing pressure to meet the requirements of the federal “No Child Left Behind Act”, which links every school’s financing and its teachers’ jobs to student performance on standardized tests. In my opinion, this shows bad aspect of taking test. This law has a strict rule for a teacher and a school. Each school have to above the test score regulation, otherwise teacher and school will get punishment from government. As a result, I guess because of that pressure from government, teacher force to students to improve scores. Many schools couldn’t achieve and the challenges seems fail to me. Test has a lot of positive aspects as I mention above, however, under negative circumstances, test might become just stress for a students.

Educator has to think how to use test effectively, we shouldn’t force to students. Positive way of thinking for the test is required to use test effectively. Consequently and realistically, we need a test for school but we should make positive environment for students to take a test.
