No access: difficulties with conducting research in public schools

I enjoyed today’s class discussion on behavior management. I enjoyed that we went around the room and we shared our thoughts on the different statements. It gave us a chance to learn about the topic through sharing our own thoughts and advice on the different situations. It also allowed us to share our fears about a miss-behaving class.

On a different note I would like to that you for being so understanding about my research paper. It is unfortunate that I cannot continue on with my research on the views of inclusion because I liked my topic. I thought it would be one that is a current and researchable issue. However, as you know my school has been a little less than accommodating to my research needs. I think the new topic you gave me is an interesting one to share with my peers and educational staff because hopefully it will open their eyes to some changes that need to be made.

I plan on writing about all of the obstacles I faced along the way as well as my original research idea and what I wanted to accomplish with that. I will also try to find what new law was passed placing more restrictions on surveys being given out. I would like to find out if the law truly makes it a lot harder to the administrators to allow, or if they just did not want to take time out of their days to accomplish it for me. I plan on placing a different obstacle on each slide with examples of what exactly happened. I hope to conclude the slide presentation and paper with advice to future students who want to hand out surveys in a class. I will also try to find articles relating to my topic.
