Ever since I was little girl, I always wanted to play the teacher whenever my cousins and I played school. I loved giving out the assignments and explaining to them what they had to do. I also enjoyed getting back their papers and being able to grade them the way I wanted to.
After realizing how much I enjoyed playing teacher, as the years went on, during high school I knew this would be my profession. The one important aspect that motivates me to becoming a teacher is, knowing that I can be one of the many great educators. Also, being able to teach a certain age level and see that the children understand the lesson would be an amazing feeling. I want to be that teacher that makes a positive different in the lives of children.
Another important motivation I have to becoming a teacher is from the previous teachers I had in high school. They would always give words of encouragement and make the class very engaging and that is what I would like to give back when I start teaching. Children also motivate me to become a teacher. For example, my nephew who is two years old is one of the most adorable little boys I have ever seen. I enjoy helping him pronounce words because after a few practices he says them all on his own. He is a very quick learner and to know that I am educating him motivates me to teach other children. The happiest day of my life is yet to come but the day will be when I’m standing in front of a group of second graders teaching them math, English, and other subjects.
