The Name Game

Today in class, the activities the other students and myself took part in, made the class the most interactive and fun class I have been in, at any semester at CW Post. My favorite & the most highlighted activity of the class was the Name Game.

I enjoyed listening to the other students try and think of ways for everyone to remember their name. Some students did struggle however, as did I when it came to my own name. Some people had a hard time remembering others names along with the analogy they made up to go with it. However not everyone remembers or thinks the same. Everyone has a different strategy for example, one young lady made up her own analogies to everyone’s name such as the first thing that came to mind when they’re name was said and she repeated it back her way. One name in particular that I will not forget was a young man named Pat. His analogy was “Pat, yourself on the back”. It was very catchy and just clinged to the person. It also made a lot of people laugh which helps in remembering it.

This activity was a good way to begin the class. It gave everyone a chance to meet everyone and put a name to a face. It also opened up the mind to new strategies for some people and will help others in their thinking processes in the future.
