EDI 17 Psychology and Development of Adolescent Students
College of Education
Long Island University, C. W. Post
September , 2010
After the long day I had already had, the last place I wanted to be was in another classroom. The last thing I wanted to hear was a lecture. For the third straight time this EDI 17 class has proven me wrong. When the powerpoint first came up the same nervous and perturbed feeling came across me; I did not want to sit there and take notes. I was dozing off before class started and by the end I found myself, not taking notes, but enjoyably jotting down helpful feedback from my peers and professor. Hearing all of the funny encounters with students and parents made me excited and motivated to teach. Even the bad situations made for good story telling and I can not wait until that is part of my everyday life.

Today’s class really got me thinking about my own classroom and what situations I may be faced with. After hearing a couple peoples opinions on how they would handle certain scenarios I have figure out how I will handle the same problems if they arise. Most professors don’t understand that we students can learn from and feed off each other. Doctor Boyanton is the only professor I have had so far that respects and trusts the students to help each other grow as educators. I hope I can develop a classroom just like ours for adolescents.
