Becoming an educator

Today during class we did a peer-grading activity for our mid-term exams. Each student was given another student’s test to grade the multiple choice section of the exam. This was a fair way of grading, this way no one would be tempted to change their own answers. As I started to grade the exam I was given, I started to wonder if my answers were correct. I was anxious to see my grade, and was happy to hear that we would be getting our grades after everyone was finished grading the tests.

When I got my exam back, I must say that I was pleased with my grade. I got 86.5 on my mid-term exam. Although I would have liked to get a higher grade, the grade that I received is not a bad one. I felt that the mid-term exam was fair, and really tested all of the concepts and theories we have learned so far in this course.

I feel like this semester is really going by very quickly. I have completed all of my mid-term exams and papers for my other classes as well. I feel like I really am learning a lot this semester from this course. Between this course and the art education course I am taking, I have learned a lot of very useful information for my future teaching career. Each day I learn something new, and it makes me more and more excited to be an art teacher.
