Todays class really made me think about my relationship with my family, as well as my relationship with my boyfriend. I am very lucky to have two parents who are still together, as well as four siblings. Even though, I am one of five, my parents were very equal and loving to all of us. I must say I live a comfortable life, and my parents made sure that we were always happy, and they do as much as they can for us. For instance, when it came to taking the SATS, they put us all through prep classes to make sure that we would receive a better grade, it is crazy, but they even bought us all our own cars to be even. My dad would say, “I did it for the first, I need to do it for them all.” I must say I am very lucky and do not take them for granted.
My parents have always motivated me to follow my dreams and do what makes me happy in life. My dad would say that the most, because he is in a job where he is not happy. I do well in school because I want too, but I also do well, because I want to make my parent’s happy and not waste their money. Especially since, my two sisters are in college as well, and we all go to private school, which cost a fortune! My father is my role model, because he is so intelligent. It makes me sad to think that he cannot follow his dream, and he makes sure that his children follows theirs.
My dad is extremely intelligent and loves school! He always graduated top ten in his class, as well as in college. He went to Queens College, and received his masters at St. Johns, and one of his case studies were even published in his professor’s textbook. Unfortunately, he works in the corporate business, and cannot even achieve his dream. He really wants to get his doctorate, and become a professor in business. However, he is an executive for IBM, and literally works around the clock. He works from home, and I never get to see him. This makes me so sad, because he motivates us and I know he is not happy with his job. I really hope that one day he can receive his doctorate, retire and become a business professor. I also wish he could know truly how intelligent he is, which is something no one can ever take away from him.
My boyfriend also truly motivates me at all times. I have been with my boyfriend for four years, we are high school sweet hearts. No matter how sad and stressed I am with school, he is always there by my side pushing me through, and telling me that I can do it. He constantly tells me that I am smart and will go places in my life, when I have doubts or let the stress get to me. He motivates me everyday to do better. I came to the conclusion when a person has someone to talk to when they are upset, it makes them feel better, especially since it is not healthy to bottle everything up. He is very patient, especially when I am doing school work for hours, and is always there for me. I am very happy to have people in my life that motivate me everyday, and make it easier to achieve my goals and dreams.
