Understanding the psychology of man

In today’s class I found the movie we watched interesting. Some of the connections put together in the movie I would have never put together, but thinking about them, they make sense. I also found that the movie was correct with the roles of men. I think society has such a stigma on men that are found to be sensitive, or willing to show their emotions, when in reality, they are human and experience emotions the way women do. I think the way to stop or at least lessen the stigma on men who are comfortable with themselves that they can have emotions is for women to not expect them to be this non-human that is always supposed to be tough, and never show a sign of weakness.

Another problem is men are never really shown how to channel their anger, hurt, pain etc. in positive ways, so they tend to resort to violence because what else do they know or have they been shown? I think with time and showing young boys how to channel their anger or other emotions which would show them as weak into healthier more productive ways, the instances of violence will decrease, thus men will not have such a stigma to keep their emotions bottled up inside.
